Gertrude the Bunny
Meet Gertrude.
Gertrude is not like other bunnies, because Gertrude grew up at Wolf Camera’s portrait studio, in a back room in a cage. She got to come out of her cage to ride around on our shoulders, or run around in a confined area that we would set up, or to have her picture taken with some two year old, who may or may not let go when we ask. So, Gertrude doesn’t really think she’s a bunny. She thinks she’s more like a dog- here’s what I mean. If she is hopping around in a room, and we come in and call her, she comes right by your feet. When you hold her, she licks your hand like crazy, and if you let her out in the room, she will hop the entire perimeter of the room over and over exploring. She'll also lay out if you scratch her back, and stay down until she's sure you're done scratching.
Why am I telling you about Gertrude? Well, today was my last official day at Wolf, and when I left, Gertrude came home with me. Charles wasn’t so sure about this arrangement over the phone, but it took him all of two minutes watching her hop around our house to fall in love. We’re not sure if he’ll be allergic to her, so for now, we plan to keep her out in the garage in her cage, and hopefully soon build her a larger hutch so she has more room to hop on days when we don’t have time to let her go around the house.
I'm sure there will be many more pictures to follow.

My Marmar's name is Gertrude. Interesting name for a bunny! She seems cute. Amie and Ben have a bunny, too. Did you know that?
Gerty is named after Gertrude Hawks a company that makes chocolate bunnies at Easter. An ex-co-worker named her, and it stuck.
Hey, nice picture!
