Fair Weather Friend

Our CR-V has a bad habit of not starting in the rain. We think it just gets down. So, last month we had it “repaired” because we knew we had our roadtrip to NJ this month. As it happens, we followed a storm up the east coast. The CR-V started yesterday even though it was raining. However, this morning at a hotel in Petersburg, Virginia, I think our little CR-V was just a little overwhelmed, and it decided not to start. We were supposed to be on our way to Williamsburg to have brunch with a friend, and were hoping to get to NJ tonight. So after waiting over an hour for AAA to show up, the driver convinced us to go to his shop instead of the Honda service center. Luckily, the mechanics believed us that all the little car needed was some sunshine and they put some hot lights on the engine, and in another hour when they tried the crank, the CR-
V started happily. So we were on our way again, 4 hours later than planned, minus the brunch, and not turning off the engine until we got to Charles’ parents’ house. We ordered the parts and Charles is hopefully going fix it on Monday.

I'm going to pretend I never heard this story. CRVs must be invincible, and never have any trouble. Maybe it was just not up to a long drive that day, or maybe it was afraid of New Jersey and that you would stay up north....

I love my blue CRV, and it always starts rain or shine... of course it's a 2004 and still a baby....
