Fireworks- July 3rd, 2005

July 3rd is Catriona's birthday. This year she turned 13 and we had sparklers and fireworks to celebrate. Some of the sparklers worked well, however, one type put out quite a bit of smoke, and not much spark. So, Mark and Charles had the brilliant idea to tape them all together to the launch pipe. We thought they would all just sparkle together in the middle of the lawn, although, I do seem to remember several of us backing up as Charles went to light it. I had my camera ready thinking I'd capture the glow from the light on Charles' face.And well...it was more of an explosion in his face. It was pretty funny once we all got over the shock and realized he was okay.
