Yard Rabbits

We live in a Beatrix Potter world. We have our house rabbit, Gordy, but we also have lots of yard bunnies. On any given morning, there are two to three bunnies eating our front lawn. The other evening I went out and did some portraits. They are pretty brave bunnies, apparently, because they let me get pretty close. Although, I do know how to approach a rabbit- walk slowly and quietly towards them while looking in another direction. I don't see you, you don't see me, sort of thing...seems to work!


















And here is a picture of Leif and I. He fell asleep playing in his playpen the other day and I picked him up to put him in his crib, and I had a little trouble putting him down because he cuddled in so nicely.

Chatter

Leif has been quite talkative lately. He babbles and laughs and babbles some more. The other day he woke up on our drive home and was talking away and continued to talk when we got into the house.

Thumb Sucking

As I was trying to wake Leif this morning, he got his thumb in his mouth trying to stay asleep. Today was really the first day that he really got a good hold of his thumb- he's been sucking his knuckles, his palm and his fingers, but today, I think he finally figured it out. I caught him this afternoon practicing the skill...

Leif's New "Do"

Swimming

We took the baby swimming for the first time this weekend! We went over to the Johnson's salt water pool, and Nathan, Joshua and Callie gave Leif a warm (but loud) introduction to swimming. Leif did pretty well- he seemed to just be taking everything in as we held him in the water. After a while he started fussing, which turned into screaming, which turned very quickly into a nap. Apparently swimming took a lot of energy. (Thanks for the cool swimwear Aunt Sheryl & Uncle Dave!)

DM & Gwennan

Donna Marie and Gwennan are both looking exceptionally cute these days- DM expecting, and Gwennan is just Gwennan! So, I took them out for a photoshoot last Friday. Here are a few of my favorites:

Laughing for the Ladies

This weekend was DM's baby shower. Erika hosted it at her beautiful house. I brought along the baby in his Hawaiian party shirt. He cooed and laughed for the ladies and DM shot this video.
His laughing was also quite disruptive in church this week. I fed him in a little room at the back of the sanctuary and then left him in there playing with a mobile. I joined the service (Charles was teaching) and left the back door open a crack so that I could hear if he cried. He was laughing and squealing so loud that most of the church (all 20 of them) turned around at some point laughing. The funny thing is, there aren't even batteries in the mobile, but he could kick the side of the bassinet and make the mobile shake, which just cracks him up. I love that he's so happy playing alone.
