4 1/2 month photo shoot

I took Leif to the Johnson's house to do a photo shoot. I was looking to photograph him outside by a pool and also wanted to photograph him with his bath towel wrapped around him, and their house was a great location. Their guest room has a gorgeous antique bath tub.



































































This is probably my favorite picture that I have taken of Leif so far.

Attempted Roll

I was really sure Leif was going to roll the other day. I was so sure I ran to get our video camera and would not have been surprised to find him on his belly when I returned. Well, he never did roll, not yet anyway, but he did some of his other baby tricks for the camera- sorry for the sloppy video-editing, I don't know much about it, I just knew it needed to be cut down a little.

NJ Visit

Charles and Leif and I took our first trip as a family up to NJ. Our parents all came down at Leif's birth, but had not seen him since then. Our brothers and their families had never met Leif- and I got to meet my new niece Ava. My Nana, who has been in and out of the hospital and rehab also got to meet Leif for the first time.
Overall, the trip was mostly a time to spend time with our families. We also traveled up to Boston for the weekend to attend a wedding, and got to visit with a few friends from college. Charles missed our typical vacation adventures, and I pretty much felt that traveling with a baby was enough adventure for right now.

Do you see a common denominator in these pictures? Oh, why not? He's so cute!

Resemblance?

The big question we get with Leif is- so who does he look like? Or people will just say "He looks just like you" and just as many will say "He looks just like Charles". All that means is that he's a good mix. While we were home in NJ I got a baby picture of me, and forgot to get a baby picture of Charles, but hopefully I'll get one soon. Here's me, I think about 2 weeks old, compared to a picture of Leif at one month.




















We went for Leif's 4 month check up and immunizations yesterday. He is 18 lbs 8 oz, and 27 inches long. Basically, he's the size of your average 7 month old. The doctor just told me to remind people of how old he is, because they will expect him to be developmentally further than he is. Other than that, the doctor says he looks great, and gave the go-ahead for riding in the bike trailer on smooth pavement. We're pretty excited about that!
The doctor also explained that his stomach isn't nearly as large as it appears, his muscles just aren't developed enough to hold it in...exactly what's wrong with my stomach!
